PFF: Joe Flacco Youth Nick Boyle Jersey , results vs. Broncos in Week 3 The Ravens bounced back strong after a tough lose against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 2-0 Broncos rolled into M&T Bank stadium but left with a loss. Now, the Ravens are sitting right behind the Bengals for first place in the AFC North.OFFENSEUnsurprisingly, Joe produced a good game. Once more, when you give a quarterback weapons and an adequate offensive line, he becomes a better quarterback. After the ugly game against the Bengals many feared this matchup was a loss. The Ravens O-line couldn’t handle Cincy, how were they going to manage Von Miller and Bradley Chubb? Somehow, someway, they did it.DEFENSESmith is quickly playing himself out of a possible re-signing with Baltimore. He’s roaring across the field and disrupting plays every game. Hopefully, Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser can fill in next season.Carr couldn’t quite handle Emmanuel Sanders or Demaryius Thomas in man coverage on Sunday. These are big men with great hands and ball skills, which far too often demonstrated their ability to adjust and reel in the tough back-shoulder throws by Case Keenum. I’m not surprised by Marlon’s stats; he’s a first-round cornerback who has practiced against Michael Crabtree and John Brown all year. Let’s hope the two play even better against the Steelers in Week 4.Ravens vs Browns Final Recap: Defensive game ends in heartbreaking fashion The Baltimore Ravens traveled to Cleveland to take on the Browns in a divisional Sunday matchup. Running back Alex Collins started the game fast with a 19-yard run on the first play of the game. Several plays later, the Ravens were faced with fourth-and-inches. Quarterback Joe Flacco was able to convert with a quarterback sneak. The drive stalled with a drop from wide receiver Michael Crabtree on 3rd-and-8, leading Baltimore to punt. Crabtree has struggled with drops thus far this season. The Ravens defense was able to get to Baker Mayfield early James Hurst Jersey , pressuring him into throwing an interception to cornerback Tavon Young. However, Baltimore’s offense was unable to put the ball in the end zone, with another bad drop from Crabtree on second down and an incompletion to John Brown on third. Justin Tucker gave the Ravens a 3-0 lead with a 44-yard field goal. The Browns offense was able to find some rhythm on the next drive, making it to Baltimore’s 35-yard line. Safety Eric Weddle was able to sack Mayfield for a nine-yard loss on third down, putting Cleveland out of field goal range. After another punt from both teams, the Ravens were able to drive down the field to the Browns two-yard line, but Flacco was intercepted on a tipped pass to tight end Nick Boyle. Rookie Denzel Ward was the one to make the interception, making it his third of the season. Following several more punts from both teams, Cleveland was finally able to score a touchdown. Mayfield led the Browns offense on a six play 78-yard drive, resulting in a 19-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Rashard Higgins. A missed extra point kept the score at 6-3. Baltimore’s offense was able to get into field goal range with under 10 seconds remaining in the half, but Tucker’s attempt to tie the game was blocked by Ward. Cleveland entered halftime with a 6-3 lead. Things did not get any easier for the offense to start the second half, as running back Javorius Allen fumbled the ball on a catch-and-run. The Browns were able to turn it into three points with a 35-yard field goal http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-tavon-young-jersey , extending the lead to 9-3. The Ravens answered with a 25-yard field goal of their own, cutting the lead to three points again. Both defenses continued to play hard, forcing five combined punts before Baltimore was finally able to hit another field goal, this time from 32-yards to tie the game with 3:37 left to play in regulation. Cleveland was in position to win the game with a 55-yard field goal, but the kick was wide left, forcing overtime for the third time this season for the Browns. Cleveland won the toss and elected to receive the ball to start, but quickly went three-and-out and had to punt. The Ravens marched the ball down the field and seemingly into Tucker’s field goal range after a 17-yard run from Collins. The play was called back for an illegal block in the back on Chris Moore, and Baltimore was forced to punt. Both teams had failed drives to follow, with Cleveland turning the ball over on downs and the Ravens once again punting. The Browns received the ball with a little over two minutes left in overtime. After a 39-yard pass from Mayfield to rookie receiver Derrick Willies, Cleveland was in potential field goal range. Back-to-back strong runs from Duke Johnson cut the distance shorter, making it a 37-yard attempt. This time, Greg Joseph did not miss http://www.ravensfootballauthentics.com/sam-koch-jersey-authentic , and the Browns won a stunner in overtime, 12-9, improving to 2-1-1. In a game where the offense struggled immensely to move the ball, quarterback Joe Flacco threw 56 times, completing 29 for 298 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception. Despite starting strong, Collins finished with only 59 yards on 12 attempts. Crabtree finished with 66 yards but had several disastrous drops, including a potential game-winner before the end of regulation. Weddle, Terrell Suggs, Willie Henry and Brandon Williams all had sacks, while Kenny Young and Za’Darius Smith split one. Baltimore falls to 3-2 and to second place in the division. They travel to Tennessee next week to face the Titans.

his 1 Authentic Greg Olsen Jersey ,000 yard campaign The Panthers’ offense was subpar last season, to say the least. You could attribute that to many things. Most common were injuries, trades, and questionable play calling. But one bright light to the 2017 season was wide receiver Devin Funchess. Funchess really stepped things up when Panthers surprisingly traded wideout Kelvin Benjamin to the Bills. He finished the season with a career high 840 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. According to Pro Football Focus, Funchess only had three drops on 66 catchable passes for a 4.55 drop rate, tying him for No. 6 in the NFL last season. PFF also added that Funchess ranked No. 10 in the league in contested catch rate at 48.4 percent. He didn’t drop a single contested pass during a mediocre offensive season for the rest of the Panthers. Not to mention, Funchess dealt with his own shoulder injury late in the season. The 2018 offseason has already turned things around for Carolina. This very well could be the season Panthers see a receiver reach 1,000+ receiving yards since Benjamin did so in 2014. With new offensive coordinator Norv Turner behind the wheel, Funchess has a very good campaign heading into the upcoming season. Although there are many new faces added to the receiving corps Womens Dontari Poe Jersey , Funchess still looks to be Cam Newton’s go-to receiver. After all, he’s already built that chemistry and familiarity with Newton during the absence of Greg Olsen and others. There’s opportunity for more yardage. Last year, Funchess’ longest catch was 44 yards in the season finale versus the Atlanta Falcons. However, with Turner’s offensive scheme featuring plenty of downfield throws, Funchess has the talent to surpass 44 yards early on. In Turner’s offenses, receivers average more yards per attempt and are put in for big play action opportunities. Another feature to Turner’s offenses? Tall wide receivers. Funchess exceeds that requirement at 6’4”.Last season, Funchess began the season in Benjamin’s shadow. This year, the Panthers know Funchess’ ability. With Newton expected to throw more deep balls, Funchess should be the guy at the other end of those plays. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is ecstatic to have Greg Olsen back on the football field. And he wants Olsen to remain on the field Authentic Ian Thomas Jersey , so much that Newton said he asked his spiritual grandmother Hattie-Lou Newton to pray for the tight end's continued health."That would be great," Olsen said with a laugh, "I can use all of the help I can get."The 33-year-old Olsen practiced Thursday and is expected to return to action Sunday against the Redskins after missing three games with a broken foot.Olsen was one of the most durable players in the NFL during his first 10 seasons, never missing a game due to injury while playing in 158 consecutive games. But he's missed 12 of the last 18 games since first fracturing his right foot in Week 2 of last season. He re-broke the same bone in Carolina's season opener against the Cowboys and hasn't played since. That has left the three-time Pro Bowl selection frustrated and eager to get back on the field — although not enough to rush back from the injury."I wouldn't be out there if I didn't think I could help the team," Olsen said. "Me being out there and not being able to move, that doesn't do us any good. This isn't about me just desperately wanting to play. I want to play and I expect to play like I am accustomed to."Coach Ron Rivera said barring any setbacks before Sunday there won't be any restrictions on Olsen's playing time.Rivera said Olsen moved around well Thursday, and participated fully in practice. Like his teammates, Olsen hasn't been able to go full speed yet this week because heavy rains the past two days in the Charlotte area have caused the fields to be wet and soggy.Olsen brings yet another option in the passing game for Newton, who just got second-year wide receiver Curtis Samuel back from a minor heart procedure last week."The band is back http://www.carolinapanthersteamonline.com/michael-palardy-jersey ," Newton said with a wide smile.Nobody knows what Olsen means to the Panthers more than Newton.Olsen has always been his favorite target. He became the first tight end in NFL history to record three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from 2014-16."He can't (get injured) no more," Newton said. "... His play-making ability on the field is just second to none. Having Greg back, keeping him healthy along with the talent that we already have, it presents a lot of problems for the opposing team."Newton said Olsen also helps him call out plays in the huddle, something that fans don't always see.The eighth-year quarterback said many calls in the NFL these days are simply too long and contain too much verbiage, and suggested some need to be simplified one-word phrases like "Panther," or even "Tepper" or "Rivera," referring to the surnames of the team's owner and head coach."Greg is a very intellectual person that helps me out with play-calling Authentic Christian McCaffrey Jersey ," Newton said. "I call him 'the dictator' in the huddle because I really have problems with calling plays — even in year eight. And he kind of helps me."Newton went on to say "calling a play shouldn't be a paragraph. ... I will be in the huddle and I'm already tired and I don't have time to be saying this, that and the third. (It should be) ready, ready break. You only get so much time."Olsen downplayed Newton's comments Thursday, saying the quarterback "exaggerated a little bit" in how much he helps him."Cam has it under control," Olsen said. "... Sometimes in the heat of the battle I will help piece some things together. But I think Cam was just being generous."

On a rainy day at FedEx field Youth Da'Ron Payne Jersey , the Redskins endured the sloppy conditions to beat the Packers 31-17. The win came at a perfect time, as they enter the bye week at 2-1, and with a bit of momentum. The early bye week also comes at a good time for the Redskins as they have a few players dinged up who can use the extra week to get healthy - Trent Williams “clean-up” knee procedure being the newest. They also have a new face at wide receiver, Michael Floyd, who they would like to assimilate into the offense sooner rather than later.Overall, Sunday’s home game was a solid showing on both sides of the ball and special teams. Hopefully it gives the team a bit of swagger, and the fans some renewed hope for the long stretch that is ahead of them. Below are my Studs and Duds of the game.Studs:Alex Smith - The numbers may not have been gaudy (12/20, 220 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception), but it was Smith’s command of the offense, the RPO’s, and the way he used his legs when needed that land him on this list. I think he’s only going to get better as the season progresses. Adrian Peterson - Peterson was back on track against a pretty solid Packers front seven, rushing for 120 yards on 19 carries (a 6.3 YPC average) and two touchdowns. He showed patience, vision, speed, burst and power on the afternoon, and again showed what a good, capable running back can achieve in this offense.Jordan Reed - Reed was a key cog in the offense Sunday, catching 4 passes for 65 yards, but it was also his blocking that stood out on the day. So far on the young 2018 season, Reed has looked much better blocking than at any point in his career. Chase Roullier - Center or guard - it doesn’t seem to matter. Roullier has stood out as one of the team’s better linemen through the first three games. He moves very well in space, and re-directs his body effectively once he gets there to seal off the defender from the ball carrier. His power at impact generates from the hips Youth Jordan Reed Jersey , and the man always seems to play through the whistle. Daron Payne/Jonathan Allen - The dynamic Alabama duo played their best games as pros against the Packers on Sunday. Allen collect two sacks and three quarterback hits to go along with five tackles, and Payne chipped in with his first NFL sack, a quarterback hit and and five tackles. These two monsters are going to be a force for years to come. Matt Ioannidis - Ioan-man continues to be a force along the defensive front, collecting yet another sack and just bullying opposing offensive linemen who stand in his way. He’s recorded a sack in each game this season. Tress Way - The man averaged 47 yards per punt on five attempts with a long of 57!Duds:Josh Doctson - Doctson continued his disappearing act again on Sunday, He was the only starting pass catcher who failed to record a reception against the Packers. He simply fails to get open against one-on-one coverage. He has just five receptions for 48 yards on the young season. Ty Nsekhe - Nsekhe looked horrible against the Packers Sunday when he came in at right tackle for the injured Morgan Moses. he was slow, off-balance, and was called for multiple penalties on the afternoon. We need to get Geron Christian up and running as soon as humanly possible. Zach Brown - Maybe missing the majority of the off-season program and much of the preseason is not a good look after the team rewarded you with a new contract. Brown has not been the same at inside linebacker so far in three games. His reads look off, his fills look slow, and he’s getting blocked at the second level way too often. Am I nit-picking here...you tell me. Overall, it was a pretty well executed game plan by our Skins! Defensively, we kept the Packers receivers in front of us, and did well making tackles when they made the reception. The linebackers did give up some chunk yards to some of Green Bay’s running backs, but that may have been by design more than a lack of pure execution. On offense, we were effectively able to run the football, which opened up other parts of our offense, including the deadly RPO. And guess what - Alex Smith took some downfield shots!HTTR!Daily Slop: Redskins finally have the depth to compete; Gruden not alarmed by Josh Doctson MRI on Achilles Redskins 2018 position outlook: Inside linebacker | NBC Sports WashingtonRedskins position outlook: Mason Foster and Zach Brown are set to start at inside linebacker but there is plenty of competition for jobs behind them.5 position battles to watch at Redskins training camp | 106.7 The FanCraig Hoffman previews the hottest position battles entering Redskins training camp, predicts winners.Jay Gruden doesn't see any 'glaring weakness' on Redskins - Washington TimesAfter they were the most injured team in the NFL last season, the Washington Redskins weren't going to stand pat.Need to Know: Gruden says that Redskins rookie RB Guice is "strong, strong, strong, strong" | NBC Sports WashingtonNeed to Know: The Redskins are in reasonably good health and Jay Gruden is impressed with the physical ability of rookie Derrius Guice.Freak accident sidelines Redskins' corner Josh Holsey for start of training camp | NBC Sports WashingtonSkins' corner Josh Holsey will miss the start of training camp after a random accident injures his foot.Ryan Kerrigan leads Redskins in jersey sales ahead of NFL training camp | NBC Sports WashingtonThe NFL season is right around the corner, which means people are out buying new jerseys. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wade Miley’s baffling off-speed stuff was just part of a frustrating night for the Chicago Cubs. The left-hander pitched six stingy innings http://www.rangersfanproshop.com/authentic-nomar-mazara-jersey , Lorenzo Cain reached base five times and the Milwaukee Brewers romped past the Cubs 11-1 on Tuesday to climb within three games of the NL Central leaders.Miley (3-2) allowed one run and three hits, struck out five and walked none as Milwaukee won for the fifth time in the last six meetings with its division rival. The second-place Brewers maintained a 1½-game lead over St. Louis for the top NL wild card.“I just feel now I can throw strikes,” said Miley, who missed 57 games this season with a right oblique injury. “I guess I trust my pitches and trust my catcher, and the defense is playing great.“I just threw 78 cutters and three fastballs, so it’s a 180 (from last season).”Mike Montgomery (4-5) struggled with his control for four innings, and the Brewers had their way with a succession of Cubs relievers.Cain had four walks and a double from the leadoff spot, setting the tone for Milwaukee’s offense. Christian Yelich walked and added a two-run double in the seventh, reaching base for the 21st straight game — the longest active streak in the National League. The first-place Cubs were hurt by poor defense and committed two errors. First baseman Anthony Rizzo left the game with a bruised right foot but said he was OK and would play Wednesday in the series finale. The Brewers have four games left with the Cubs Ferguson Jenkins Jersey , including three at Wrigley Field next week, and have their sights set on winning the division.“This is how we had to start it,” manager Craig Counsell said. “So far, so good. Another series win and try to get a sweep tomorrow.”Milwaukee has won 11 of its last 15 games, and Miley said a division title is on the Brewers’ minds.“Why wouldn’t we be?” he explained. “We’ve still got 25 games to go, 23 games to go. Why not? I don’t think you quit thinking about it until you can’t think about it no more.”Singles by Hernan Perez and Travis Shaw and a sacrifice fly by Erik Kratz gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning. Cubs second baseman Javier Baez couldn’t catch Shaw’s hot shot, a play that was initially ruled an error but was later changed to a hit by the official scorer.Cain’s leadoff double in the fifth off reliever Brandon Kintzler set up the Brewers’ third run, delivered on a sacrifice fly by Jesus Aguilar.Ragged defensive play by the Cubs allowed the Brewers to extend their lead to 6-1 in the sixth. A routine grounder was booted by shortstop Addison Russell, setting up the rally against left-hander Jorge De La Rosa. One run scored on an error by first baseman Victor Caratini http://www.rangersfanproshop.com/authentic-jason-grilli-jersey , another on a passed ball by catcher Willson Contreras and the third on a hit batter. The Brewers scored three more in the seventh and two in the eighth. Milwaukee hit three sacrifice flies in the game. Orlando Arcia had three hits and scored three times.“We did not pitch well at all after we got by Montgomery,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. “They didn’t really beat us up offensively; we just kind of self-destructed.”TRAINER’S ROOMCubs: Rizzo exited in the sixth after fouling a ball off his foot in the third. X-rays were negative. … Veteran LHP Jaime Garcia, signed Friday after being released by Toronto, joined the Cubs. They selected his contract from Triple-A Iowa and recalled outfielder Mark Zagunis, who was placed on the 60-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.Brewers: LHP Gio Gonzalez, acquired from Washington in a trade Friday, will start Saturday vs. San Francisco. Junior Guerra will go to the bullpen, Counsell said.THE RIVALRYNew Cubs pitcher Cole Hamels isn’t sure the Chicago-Milwaukee rivalry is a full-blown feud on the level of Cubs-Cardinals or Yankees-Red Sox. He said as much after the Brewers’ 4-3 comeback victory on Monday.Hamels, the Cubs starter that day Ryan Rua Jersey , said, “When you have the majority of Cubs fans in the stands, I don’t know if that’s a rivalry.”But the fans flocking to Miller Park this week — for both teams — may think differently.“I look at it like we are spending way too much time trying to classify rivalries,” Counsell said. “Enjoy the baseball games, man.”The Cubs hold an 81-77 lead in games at Miller Park since 2001 and a 178-167 edge since the Brewers joined the National League in 1998.“I think that’s always going to be part of this series when you play up here; you’re always going to get a lot of Cubs fans,” Maddon said. “(A huge rivalry is) something that is achieved over time. Give it time and it may eventually show up that way here.”UP NEXTCubs: LHP Jose Quintana (11-9, 4.21 ERA) allowed five runs over five innings in his last start against Milwaukee, a 7-0 Brewers victory at Wrigley Field on Aug. 14. Prior to that he had given up just five runs in 49 innings vs. the Brewers. Quintana is 3-1 with a 1.32 ERA in five career starts at Miller Park.Brewers: RHP Jhoulys Chacin (14-5, 3.53 ERA) will make his 30th start of the season. He is coming off a 4-1 victory over Washington on Friday. Chacin is 2-0 in two scoreless starts and 13 innings pitched against the Cubs this season. NEW YORK (AP) — Los Angeles outfielder Yasiel Puig has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed fine for fighting and inciting a bench-clearing incident against San Francisco.Major League Baseball announced the sanctions Thursday Drew Robinson Jersey , two days after the Cuban player took a swing at Giants catch Nick Hundley in the seventh inning of the Dodgers‘ 2-1 home loss. Hundley also was fined.Barring an appeal, Puig is scheduled to begin the suspension Friday at Seattle. The fracas started when Puig swatted his bat in frustration after fouling off a pitch from Tony Watson, and Hundley said something to the slugger while still in his crouch. Puig turned around and walked toward Hundley, the catcher stood up, and they argued face to face before Puig shoved Hundley twice. That brought players out of the benches and bullpens. Puig and Hundley were momentarily separated, but Puig ducked around teammates, coaches and manager Dave Roberts before reaching back to hit Hundley. He smacked Hundley with an open hand across the front of his catcher’s mask. Dodgers coach George Lombard was trying to push Hundley away when Puig took his swing. Lombard and Hundley briefly ended up on the grass. After the players were separated for good, the umpires ejected Puig and Hundley.Puig also got into a skirmish with Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner in 2014.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Max Kepler saw a lot of pitches Friday night http://www.bravesfanproshop.com/authentic-dale-murphy-jersey , and it paid off Saturday night.Kepler had three hits, including a two-run homer that put Minnesota ahead to stay, and Jose Berrios threw seven sharp innings to help the Twins to an 8-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals.Kepler went 3 for 3 with a walk and scored twice. He walked three times in Minnesota’s 6-4 victory in the series opener.“The more pitches you see in an at-bat, the better you start to see the ball with time, and I think we’re doing that pretty well as a team right now,” he said. “I hit some line drives and ground balls that some nights can be caught. Today, luckily they find holes.”Eddie Rosario and Logan Morrison also homered as the Twins won their second straight against the Royals.“We don’t want guys to try to step up and be supermen,” manager Paul Molitor said of his offense coming alive. “It’s just understand that you go out there and bring what you can bring.”Berrios (11-8) retired his first six batters, but had trouble throwing strikes in his middle innings and allowed the Royals to take a 2-1 lead after walking the bases loaded in the third. The All-Star right-hander settled down and remained unbeaten against AL Central opponents this season.“Seven innings didn’t look very likely after he gave up those couple, but he got it done,” Molitor said. “And thankfully, the bats came alive.”The Twins regained the lead on Kepler’s homer off Burch Smith (1-3) in the fourth. Rosario added a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and Logan Forsythe and Bobby Wilson each drove in a run in the sixth.“I still felt pretty good,” Smith said. “They just capitalized on mistakes. I didn’t make a pitch, and they hit it. It’s a good-hitting team.Morrison added his 15th homer in seventh, a towering two-run shot off Glenn Sparkman that traveled an estimated 442 feet before landing in the right-field concourse.SMITH’S STARTSmith was charged with a season-high six runs in five-plus innings in his fifth start of the year. Manager Ned Yost still said Smith threw the ball well.“He started laboring in the sixth inning after about the 80-pitch mark, 85-pitch mark. Up until that point, I thought he did a good job of keeping us in the game and throwing strikes,” Yost said.DRAKE THE JOURNEYMANMinnesota’s Addison Reed and Oliver Drake combined for two innings of scoreless relief. Drake Freddie Freeman Jersey , claimed off waivers from Toronto on Friday, set a major league record by pitching for his fifth team this season. He arrived at the ballpark on Saturday afternoon and said he appreciated the chance to get right to work.“I think my catch partner though the whole time has been a fence post back home, so it’s just nice to get back out there playing baseball, throwing to hitters, competing,” Drake said. And the record?“It’s definitely cool having all the jerseys,” he said smiling. “That’s going to be something that looking back it’s going to be a cool collection. I don’t know if this is something I’ll brag about, but it’ll definitely be a neat story.”TRAINER’S ROOMTwins: Molitor said RHP Aaron Slegers (shoulder) would begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Saturday night. … RHP Michael Pineda is scheduled to begin his recovery from Tommy John surgery when he starts his rehab assignment with the Florida Gulf Coast on Monday.JOHAN’S CALLThe Twins inducted former ace Johan Santana into the franchise’s hall of fame in a pregame ceremony. Santana, who won two AL Cy Young Awards during his eight seasons in Minnesota, became the 31st member of the Twins Hall of Fame. For five seasons, from 2003-07, he led the AL in wins (82), strikeouts (1,152), ERA (2.92) and opponent batting average (.212).Surrounded by family and former teammates, Santana was introduced by former teammate Torii Hunter before being presented with a Twins blazer by Rod Carew.“Go chase your dreams, work hard, be passionate about what you do. Have fun and never give up, and good things will happen to you http://www.bravesfanproshop.com/authentic-bobby-cox-jersey ,” Santana told the crowd.UP NEXTRoyals: LHP Danny Duffy (7-9) will make his 24th start of the season Sunday. After posting a 6.88 ERA in his first 10 starts, he has a 3.00 ERA since May 24, the fourth-lowest in the AL in that stretch.Twins: RHP Ervin Santana (0-0) looks to return to his ace form when makes his third start since returning from the 60-day DL after being sidelined by an injured finger. He has allowed a combined eight earned runs in 10 1/3 innings with six strikeouts this season. ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Tyler Glasnow finally has a win to go with the label of the pitcher Tampa Bay got in the trade for former ace Chris Archer.Glasnow allowed two infield singles in six innings for the hard-throwing right-hander’s first American League win, 3-0 over the Texas Rangers on Monday night.“Let’s just hope I get a bunch more,” said Glasnow, who was winless in eight starts for the Rays, including three straight losses coming into Texas. “A win is irrelevant I’d say, but it’s good to get the first win for sure.”Ji-Man Choi connected for his 10th homer , a solo shot, and drove in two runs to help the Rays improve to a major league-best 21-5 since Aug. 19. Tampa Bay pulled to 6 1/2 games behind idle Oakland for the second American League wild-card spot.Isiah Kiner-Falefa barely beat out a chopper to shortstop for the first Texas hit with two outs in the fifth. Nomar Mazara reached in the sixth on a high bouncer in front of the mound that was first ruled an error by Glasnow.“It’s a hit, obviously,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “If it got down to the wire, you’d probably want to say that it would be nicer if it was a hard-hit ball. But look, if we’re on the other side of that, we’d take any kind of a hit.”Adam Kolarek, Jose Alvarado and Sergio Romo pitched a hitless inning apiece to wrap up the second two-hit shutout of the Rangers in a week. Eight Los Angeles Angels pitchers pulled the trick on Texas last Tuesday. Romo got his 22nd save in 29 chances. It was the fourth big league win in 26 starts over two seasons for Glasnow (2-6). The 25-year-old, who came from Pittsburgh at the trading deadline, struck out six http://www.bravesfanproshop.com/authentic-bob-uecker-jersey , walked two and hit a batter while hitting 99 mph with his fastball twice.“That’s a power right-handed arm,” said Texas manager Jeff Banister, who was around Glasnow before coming to the Rangers from the Pirates for the 2015 season. “He threw just enough balls out of the strike zone and enough in at the knees, 97, 98, 99, with the swing-and-miss breaking ball made it uncomfortable for our guys.”Leading 2-0 with two on in the sixth, Glasnow finished his outing by getting Adrian Beltre on a flyout. Glasgow got some help the batter before allowing his first hit when center fielder Kevin Kiermaier made a leaping catch on a liner by Ronald Guzman.ANOTHER TOUGH-LUCK LOSSAdrian Sampson (0-2) lost his second straight start following one relief appearance since the last-place Rangers called him up from the minors. The right-hander allowed six hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings.Sampson was the loser in last week’s two-hitter. He gave up two hits and one run in five innings in the Angels’ 1-0 win.“I just have my other pitchers working right now,” Sampson said. “I’ve always been a fastball guy. I’ve been able to throw my other pitches for strikes when I have to and it’s keeping them off balance. It’s been good for the first two starts.”TRIPLE-A CHANGE FOR RANGERSRound Rock is ending an eight-year run as the Triple-A affiliate of the Rangers. SAN JOSE Anders Bjork Jersey , Calif. I hope guys feel good about themselves that they can win these tight ones and it has to carry on to the next 16 games.”Foligno and Sonny Milano got Columbus started with first-period goals to help the Blue Jackets salvage the final game of their three-game trip to remain a point ahead of Florida for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Blue Jackets had scored first in Los Angeles and Anaheim to start this trip before losing both games. That’s a set play with him and (Brent) Burns. They’ve played together for so long. They’re tough to stop.”Evander Kane scored his first goal since joining the Sharks and Joonas Donskoi also scored but San Jose was unable to erase a three-goal deficit.Martin Jones allowed three goals on 11 shots before being pulled early in the second period and the Sharks went a 12th straight game without a power-play goal, extending their drought to 28 chances.”Sometimes you have to give the goalie on the other team some credit,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. ”We generated some really quality chances on the power play and sometimes we missed the net and he made some really good saves.”The Sharks fell behind 3-0 early in the second when Panarin deflected Ian Cole’s point shot into the net to end Jones’ night. The Blue Jackets limited San Jose’s chances after that as they kept control of the game until a broken play late in the second gave the Sharks life.Kane’s pass was deflected right to Dylan DeMelo at the point. DeMelo fired the puck toward the net and Donskoi deflected it past Bobrovsky to make it 3-1.Kane then scored midway through the third, giving him five points in three games with San Jose. NASHVILLE Nate Thompson Jersey , Tenn. (AP) Ryan Hartman got a bit nervous with the puck so close to the empty net after a shot by P.K. But the Avalanche couldn’t get another puck past goalie Pekka Rinne.”I knew he made a shot toward the net, and I just wanted to be there in case he missed the net to beat out the icing,” Hartman said. ”Sometimes those pucks don’t bounce far enough to the front of the net, luckily it did. Those are the ones you get nervous about, the ones that are laying right there. You just want to make sure you put it in.”The Presidents’ Trophy winners gave up a goal on Colorado’s first shot for a second straight game. Yet the Predators rallied again to take their first 2-0 lead when starting a best-of-seven series in their own building.”It was nice to start here for sure in front of our fans, and it was nice to get the job done,” Nashville coach Peter Laviolette said. ”We did what we’re supposed to do. The corps thinned when Tyson Barrie was hit in the face by a puck that deflected off goalie Jonathan Bernier’s stick, but he returned later in the period.Fiala tied it with 3 seconds left on Nashville’s first power play a minute into the second period. Boston gave up three players, including forward Ryan Spooner and prospect defenseman Ryan Lindgren, and two draft picks, including its first-round selection this year.Patrice Bergeron refused to use the road trip or the trade as reasons for the Bruins losing consecutive games for the first time since going 0-1-1 on Dec. 14-16.”There was only one new guy today,” Bergeron said. ”We should know the system. We should know where to be and it wasn’t there.”Anton Khudobin was not sharp in goal. Gabriel Landeskog was credited with an empty-net goal for the Avalanche, who snapped a 12-game skid against the Predators.”Our guys were energized,” Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said. ”We were on our toes and the aggressors early in that game and it paid off for us.”Game 4 is Wednesday in Denver. For a third straight game in the series, Colorado scored first. But the Avs were able to make it stand in this one. MacKinnon and his teammates have been a different bunch at home this year. Their 28 home wins in the regular season was tied for the most in franchise history with the 2000-01 squad that hoisted the Stanley Cup.”They gained a lot of momentum, used their atmosphere to their advantage and we weren’t able to respond in that first period,” Predators forward Ryan Johansen said. ”That can’t happen.”MacKinnon’s goal at 4:25 of the second period gave Colorado a 4-0 lead and prompted the Predators to pull Rinne in favor of backup Juuse Saros . Rinne allowed four goals on 15 shots.”We weren’t very good in front of him,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. ”I didn’t think we were giving him the support he needed.”Laviolette wasn’t in a mood to elaborate on what exactly went wrong.”It wasn’t good,” Laviolette said of the first period.Any particular reason?”We didn’t play very well,” he said. One thing was clear: MacKinnon was as fast as ever on home ice. He led the league in home scoring in the regular season with 67 points.”He thrives on the energy in the building,” Bednar said. ”He’s just so explosive at home. He’s dangerous every time he touches the puck at home.”Jonathan Bernier stopped 29 shots on a night when the Avalanche finished 0 for 5 on the power play. Johansen had a second-period goal and Colton Sissons scored another in the third to make it 4-2. Saros was pulled for an extra skater with around 2:20 left and, moments later, Landeskog was credited with a goal after being dragged down on a breakaway. A sliding Landeskog was trying to get the puck over to MacKinnon for the hat trick. It’s about the only thing that didn’t work out for Colorado.”We proved to ourselves that we can get a win,” MacKinnon said. ”Hopefully it just snowballs from here.”Nashville got on the board midway through the second after Colorado was whistled for two penalties on a play, giving the Predators a 5-on-3 advantage. Johansen knocked in a rebound to make it 4-1, but Colorado quelled the other portion of the power play.Late in the second, P.K. Subban and MacKinnon got tangled up near the corner. It led to some pushing and shoving with both getting holding penalties.Simply playoff hockey.”Anytime you play the same team over and over and over again you start to really dislike each other,” said Austin Watson, who added a late goal. ”It’s good battles, good intensity out there and it’s fun hockey.”It didn’t take long for Colorado to get on the board with Comeau scoring 1:50 into the game and on the team’s second shot. The Avs beat Rinne on their opening shot in each of the first two games.Shortly after Bourque tipped in Patrik Nemeth’s shot, MacKinnon scored with 1:53 remaining in the first when he took a pass from Landeskog, used a burst of speed to get free and beat Rinne with a wrist shot. The last time the Avalanche played at the Pepsi Center it was also desperation time. They discussed the coming season and setting the tone in training camp for a team getting younger and undergoing a roster overhaul. There were bumps in the road, but the end result has seen a reinvigorated Ovechkin playing an instrumental role in getting Washington within reach of its first Stanley Cup.”You don’t want to be a one-trick pony in this league http://www.redwingsshoponline.com/authentic-dylan-larkin-jersey ,” Trotz said. ”The league keeps changing on you.”Ovechkin, whose Capitals faced the expansion Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of the final Monday night, scored 49 times this season after just 33 goals in 2016-17.”The one thing that Alex does better than anybody, maybe in the history of the game, is score goals,” Trotz said. ”He has fantastic release. He plays a physical game for a pure-skill guy. There’s so many things that he’s done for the game. But we talked about finding other ways to be effective.”The 32-year-old Ovechkin has done just that in pretty much every facet of his game.”I try to do my best in the regular year, in the playoffs,” he said. ”Of course, in the playoffs, you don’t have tomorrow.”Ovechkin has won the Richard Trophy seven times as the top goal scorer. He has 607 goals in 1,003 career regular-season games, 19th on the career list. Another 49 next season would tie him with Brendan Shanahan for 13th.”He has that ability to see past the block, see past the goalie,” Trotz said. ”Some of the better goal scorers in this league don’t see goalies, they just see empty spots. Guys that aren’t goal scorers, they see the goalie.”Trotz sees a certain ease in Ovechkin that wasn’t there when the Capitals were having great regular seasons only to fall well short in the playoffs.”He’s very comfortable within our group,” Trotz said. ”And he’s very comfortable pushing forward and not worrying about anything else.”That comfort was on display Sunday when he was asked about the impact his first trip to the Stanley Cup final is having in Russia.”Vladimir Putin called me and wished me luck,” Ovechkin said before pausing. ”No it’s (a) joke.”Until now, Ovechkin was criticized for the Capitals’ postseason failures. Washington had never moved beyond the second round during his career until this spring surge, with ousters by the Pittsburgh Penguins the last two years especially difficult. He had 46 goals in 97 career playoff games before adding 12 more on this current playoff run. But despite an experienced roster and plenty of blame to go around, the finger-pointing was often aimed at Ovechkin.”Being the captain and the highest-paid player, I think he got a lot of unfair criticism,” said Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik, who has played with and against Ovechkin. ”That comes with the territory. I think he understands that, but it was really good to see him get by the second round.”I don’t think he necessarily did that much different. I think we just played better as a team.”
